Fiberglass Self-Adhesive Mesh Tape
 

Adhesive Fiberglass Mesh Tape is woven from C-fiberglass yarn, then coated with adhesive acrylic latex. Save 

considerable time and eliminate one step of mudding when combining the self-adhesive mesh tape with a setting 

compound. This product has good performance like good softness, high stickiness, and easy application. Used to 

cover seams in the process of drywall construction, also are used to wall and ceiling problems, seal corners where

two sections of drywall meet.

Application

 

Fiberglass mesh tape is mainly used for building plate joints, plasterboard joints, and interior decoration. It is made of glass fiber mesh cloth coated with adhesive, self-adhesive, and easy to use. It goes on faster, adheres better, and requires no pasting or stapling. It won't tear, shrink, stretch or bubble, while it hides joints, cracks and holes permanently.

This tape is high tensile strength, good dimensional stability, stability to temperature, and corrosion resistance. Repair the crack and joints or holes of drywall, plasterboard, stucco; and repair other damages on another wall surface.

Direction of Applications

1. Wall must be clean and dry
2. Center and apply tape over the length of the joint, pressing firmly
3. Apply a generous first coat of compound over and through the mesh, making sure to completely fill the joint crevice. When the joint has been completely filled, wipe off any excess compound with the drywall knife leaving enough to cover the tape.
4. Let dry completely, then sand slightly.
5. Apply sufficient thin finishing coats to produce a smooth wall surface.
6. Cut or butted boards do not have a tapered edge. Therefore, special
care must be taken to assure proper compound penetration of all joints. This may result in a slight build-up of a compound that will require an increased amount of edge feathering.

Caution
1. Failure to completely fill the joint may result in cracking.
2. For best results, use a setting-type compound.
